It appears that there really isn't much we know about the history of the ISUCF'V'MB, and to an even lesser extent, the Marching Band at ISC. That is why we are starting the 'Marching Band History Project'.
What we are proposing is really a three part plan. First of all, there will be forums on this website where you can share with the rest of us your favorite stories from band. They could be about a favorite director, a favorite performance, a least favorite director...whatever stories you would like to share, they will have a place here.
The second part will be an online WIki. This will be a place where all the alumni and current members of the marching band can come together and contribute what they know about the history of the band at one place. Basically, we will be working with this wiki and adding as much as we possible can. Through group effort, we should be able to compile a very accurate picture of the history of the band here at Iowa State University and Iowa State College.
The last part of this project will be a photo archive. Anybody with photos of themselves or others, please submit them so we can have a digital repository of any historical images of the band. With the online effort of all the alumni and current members, we should be able to reasonable identify and date these photos.
